Channel Masking is Raster Masking in Adobe Photoshop that requires Photoshop Masking techniques with CMYK, RGB, and various other custom channels.

Purpose of Channel Masking:

Channel masking is very much helpful for translucent & semi-transparent images.

Channel Masking is useful when Clipping Path alone is not applicable on semi transparent or translucent images like glasses, hairs, feathers, smoke, flames, highlights, lighting, chiffon & muslin, etc.

Channel Masking is quite handy for saving a selection for Large image files (PSD, TIFF, PICT, & RAW) and where creating image layers is quite difficult.
